(Carson City, NV; April 28, 2014) - The final day to register to vote by mail in the primary election is less than two weeks away, and Secretary of State Ross Miller is reminding the public that online resources are available for voters who need to meet several key deadlines to participate.
"To be eligible to vote in the upcoming primary election, Nevadans need to be aware of strict deadlines, whether registering to vote or requesting an absentee ballot," said Secretary Miller. "These deadlines are in place to ensure a secure and inclusive electoral system."
Key 2014 election deadlines:
May 10: Last day to register to vote by mail
May 10: Last day for military and overseas citizens to register to vote via the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA). Military and overseas citizens are encouraged to fill out the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) to register and request an absent ballot at the same time. The FPCA can be accessed here and at www.fvap.gov.
May 20: Last day to register to vote electronically at www.registertovotenv.gov or in person. Applications for registration must be submitted in person by the end of the business day at all county clerk and voter registrars' offices throughout the state. May 24 to June 6: Early voting
June 3: Last day for registered voters to request an absentee ballot. The Absent Ballot Request Form can be found here.
June 10: Primary Election Day
Information about registered voter status and polling location is easily accessible through My Voter File at nvsos.gov/votersearch. Registered voters with Department of Motor Vehicle-issued identification can update their address or change their party affiliation online at www.registertovotenv.gov.
